    Speed Limit Initiative

OSPREYS requested the Board of Alderman to lower residential speed limits from 30 mph to 25 mph on October 6th, 2020. On October 20, 2020, the Board of Alderman voted on the ordinance and the following streets were changed to 25 mph: Bechtel Blvd, Pine Dr, Hanley Rd, Halstead Rd, Shearwater Dr, Cleveland Ave, General Pershing Ave, and Holcomb Blvd.

    Yard Signs

OSPREYS is dedicated to the safety of all pedestrians, especially children. We have started a yard sign campaign to remind drivers that reducing their speed on residential streets is one way we can keep the youth of OS safe!

    Current Initiatives

OSPREYS is dedicated to working with the city of Ocean Springs to identify grant opportunities that would help fund sidewalks throughout town. We have begun fundraising to purchase radar signs to be installed in known high traffic areas where pedestrians congregate.

OSPREYS plans to work with the Chamber of Commerce to improve bike paths around as well as purchase and install bike racks that will encourage folks to ride instead of drive throughout our community.
